A bus in an area of Washington, USA, seemed to develop a personality all its own when it revved its engine and took off of its own accord.

Upon getting ready to leave a transit centre near the Tacoma mall, it seems that the vehicle could not wait and began to rev its engine of its own volition.

When it took off, the bus driver put his foot down on the brake in the hope that the vehicle would grind to a halt, but to no avail.

Despite the motorist saying he applied the brakes fully, the bus' wheels continued to spin as it careered off into another bus, jumped a kerb, clipped several trees and eventually came to rest on a muddy bank.

Witnesses put the speed of the bus at about 35 mph at the point at which it crashed, with several passengers complaining of injuries.

Recently, a Wisconsin bus driver was sacked after allowing a passenger cling to his side mirror while driving after reports the man had urinated inside the vehicle.
