Making wedding plans can be one of the scariest things a man ever has to do, but perhaps things would be different if all men were as lucky as Michael Box.

The 31-year-old's girlfriend, Ashley Barbour, did all the planning for him and she chose a location which was guaranteed to satisfy her petrol-head boyfriend's desires.

The couple tied the knot at a monster truck event in the US, in front of thousands of rowdy, and probably drunk, spectators.

Surrounded by crushed cars, the pair said their vows on the dirt track during the Monster Jam at Kern County Fairground.

The bride arrived wearing a red dress and riding a motorbike into the arena, while the ceremony was carried out by a minister named Jarad 'Meathead' Mann.

''I feel like this is going to be the great extravaganza of my life,'' said Barbour. ''I'm so excited and overwhelmed and I feel like my dreams have come true.''

The 24-year-old bride had entered a competition with a local radio station to have a wedding at the event and didn't tell her hubby until the big day.

Upon marrying the couple, 'Meathead' Mann, who was wearing a pink ministers' gown, said: "''Before today, [Barbour and Box] were two highways going in the same direction. Tonight they will be merged as one."
