Bus Driver Stan Butler (Reg Varney) lives at home with his bingo loving, overbearing mother and his frumpy sister Olive.

The bane of Stan's life however, is Bus Inspector Cyril 'Blakey' Blake (Stephen Lewis).

Stan, with the aid of his pal and conductor Jack (Bob Grant) torment and tease the Inspector of the Luxton Bus Company, on the odd occasion even managing to get the iconic comedy catch phrase 'I ate you Butler!' out of him.
